Copyright Policy
The Hyderabad Journal of Sciences (HJS) respects and upholds the intellectual property rights of authors. Authors retain the legal rights to their work, and no part of their manuscript may be reproduced without their explicit permission. The copyright grants authors exclusive rights to use, reuse, and distribute their work for a specific period. After this period, the content may enter the public domain; however, proper attribution to the original authors and citation of the source must always be maintained.
HJS requires authors to grant the journal full publishing rights. This agreement enables the journal to publish, archive, and share the work while giving proper credit to the authors, who remain identified as the original creators of the content.
All articles published in HJS are made available under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0). This open-access license allows others to share, copy, and adapt the work freely, as long as appropriate credit is given to the original authors. However, users are not permitted to claim ownership or use restrictive phrases such as “all rights reserved” for any adapted or reused content.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have obtained the necessary permissions to include any third-party material in their manuscript. While brief excerpts or small portions of content may be used under the fair use clause for critique or review purposes, anything beyond that requires formal, written permission from the copyright holder. For instance, if a study involves the use of a copyrighted tool, scale, treatment, or figure, proof of permission must be submitted along with the manuscript.
By adhering to these guidelines, HJS ensures ethical publishing practices while supporting the open and respectful sharing of scientific knowledge.
