Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic respiratory diseases, and cancers, are major contributors to the global burden of disease, causing significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. The growing prevalence of NCDs, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), has become a critical challenge for global health. This article explores the impact of NCDs on public health, the factors driving their increase, and the policies being implemented to address this issue. Furthermore, it assesses the effectiveness of global health frameworks and national health policies in reducing the burden of NCDs. The paper proposes strategies to strengthen global health policy and national responses to combat NCDs and promote health equity.
