Abstract

Health literacy plays a crucial role in determining the outcomes of chronic diseases by affecting individuals' ability to understand health information, make informed decisions, and manage long-term health conditions. This article explores the link between health literacy and chronic disease outcomes, focusing on how it influences disease management, treatment adherence, and quality of life in patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases. The article examines the role of health education, healthcare system accessibility, and socio-economic factors in shaping health literacy levels. It also discusses interventions that can enhance health literacy to improve chronic disease management and outcomes, particularly in Pakistan and China, where healthcare systems face significant challenges in addressing these issues.
